Audax Series 2024 - Final Results & Medals

Our club Audax Series for 2024 concluded with our traditional Fish and Chip day trip to the seaside in perfect conditions on 29th June. Results and medal awards are shown further below. Congratulations to everyone who managed to go just that little bit further this year!

We enjoyed our morning stop at Chew Valley Lake. Unfortunately the new Pier to Pier Way between Clevedon and Weston-super-Mare was still not open for use, so we had to ride a bit further for our fish and chip lunch at Weston. We followed that with a brief stop for coffees and ice creams at the Frankie Howerd Community Cafe in Loxton and proper audax petrol station refreshments at Chilcompton. Riders arrived at the Harp and Crown in Gastard for celebratory drinks to round off the Audax series in the customary fashion.

Earlier in June we went on our long running 175km safari to Sherborne via Longleat. Back in May we took a 150km wander along the Wylye Valley - perfect conditions for that one too!

Final results for the Audax Series are listed in the table below. Medals will be presented at the club's annual Awards Night at the end of the season, for total distances ridden over 4+ audaxes. Bronze for more than 350km, Silver for more than 500km and Gold for more than 750km.

We've seen another increase in the number of medals earned this year, particularly at Gold and Silver levels of achievement.

Well done to everyone who has completed the Audax rides this year, especially if you managed to push your distance further and upped your medal level from last year as some of you have succeeded in doing.

Now you've built up your ride distance look out for our  Challenge Rides we've planned for the rest of the summer, in particularly our Round Wiltshire 250km ride on 14th July, which also has a shorter 175km option if you don't fancy the full distance. This is a classic club ride that takes in the best of our county, following the signposted Wiltshire Cycleway for much of the day.
